Joining Process

How old do I need to be to join 180 Degrees Fitness?

You are required to be at least 18 years old.

Can I trial 180 Degrees Fitness before joining?

Of course! Due to the Card entry system to the gym, we can’t offer automated access, so please contact a member of the team to book your trial. 

Can I delay the start of my membership?

Yes, you can delay your membership by up to 1 months when signing up.

Will I get a 180 Degrees Fitness membership card?

Yes, your security card will give you full access to the gym. This same PIN number along with your email address can be used to access the Members Area of the website.

Why do I need a security card?

We track entry and exit into the gym, this helps make sure we have accounted for everyone in the case of an emergency and also helps keep our membership costs down by knowing what times of the day we are less busy for promotions.

How do I use my security card?

Simply touch the entry scanner with your card on entry to the gym, this will unlock the door and allow you access. It’s very IMPORTANT that you also scan your card on the exit scanner when you leave the gym, for fire and accident precautions. Failure to do so can lead to your membership being revoked.

When will I receive my Card?

Your card is generated by a member of our team and will be available at your induction.

What if I forget or loose my card?

If you forget your card, press the door bell and a member of our team will allow you access at their discretion. If you lose your card please report to a member of our team immediately so we can cancel and re-issue. There is a standard charge for re-issue of a lost smart card of £10

What if my card stops working?

Contact a member of the team and they will check and reset the card for you.

Can I pay for my membership with cash?

Because your security card is linked to your payments, we can’t accept cash payments.  Full membership requires a subscription membership to be in force. Once your membership ends or payment cannot be obtained your card is cancelled and access is revoked.

Why do I have to agree to the Health declaration?

You are required to agree to the health declaration as part of the joining process.  This is required to ensure you are safe to use the gym facilities.  Please consult your doctor if you are unsure.

Can I pay upfront for a period of time?

Please contact a member of our team with your requirements and we will enevour to meet your needs.

Can I get a student discount?

We don’t offer a student discount … all our members pay the same high value price.

How do I join if I don't have a UK bank account?

We require a valid debit or credit card. Holding a UK bank account is not necessary.

I require disabled access to the club how do I arrange this?

Currently our gymnasium is not accessable via a wheelchair. If this is a requirement please contact us and we can assist you further.

Membership

Can I freeze my membership?

Yes, for up to 3 months for an administration fee of £5.00 per month. 

Can I let other people use my Security Card?

No, it is important that you don’t. To protect our members’ interests and safety, entrances to our gyms are monitored by CCTV 24 hours a day. Any members found flouting this rule will have their membership cancelled with immediate effect and banned from further membership.

Will you put up the price of my membership?

If you are in a contract then we would only put up your membership on renewal if our prices were to rise during your contract term.

What if I’m in a contract and you reduce the membership cost.

We will also reduce the cost of your membership. Unless its a limited time offer like a first month free or whatever offer we are currently using to obtain members.

What are your opening hours?

Our opening hours are: Monday – Saturday 7:30am to 7:30pm and 9am to 5pm Sunday.

Are you open on Bank Holidays?

Yes we treat a bank holiday as Sunday opening times, 9am to 5pm.

Payment Information

Can I change my monthly payment date?

Yes, please speak to a member of our team or process the request on your members only section of our website. Please ensure that you give us at least 3 days notice as the bank requires that for us to amend the dates.

When does the first month's payment come out of my bank?

Your first months payment and joining fee will be taken on joining.  Monthly payments will continue to be taken on the same date every month i.e. if you join up on the 1st of the month all payments will continue to be taken on the 1st of each month.

Can I change my payment details?

Yes, this can be done on your online profile.

What do I do if one of my payments fails?

Don’t worry, this happens!  You will receive a email message giving you details on how to pay on line or speak to a member of our team to discuss all the options.

Can i come over unanounced?

Yes, although staff may not be able to spend time with you if they are busy with existing members. It’s always better to call first to avoid disappointment.

Facilities & Equipment

Does 180 Degrees Fitness offer classes as part of my membership?

Currently no, as a new gym we need to obtain members to make classes. This will change in the future.

Are there changing facilities & lockers at 180 Degrees Fitness?

Yes, and hairdryers, hair straighteners, high quality toiletries and plug sockets! Changing rooms are separated into male and female. You should only use the correct sex changing room.

Can someone show me how to use the equipment?

Of course, you can book a free half hour induction via the members area of our website.  We recommend all members do this to ensure you know how to get the best results.  You can also speak to our Personal Trainer about one to one training sessions.

Does 180 Degrees Fitness have a sauna?

Yes we have a sauna located in the female changing rooms. Because of its placement the sauna can only be used by males on a Tuesday evening from 5pm to close. At this time the female changing room will be unavailable.

Is Personal Training available?

Yes, if you’re the type of person who likes being told what to do, you can book a competitively priced personal training session by speaking to a trainer or member of our team when you next pop in to the gym.

Can I park at 180 Degrees Fitness?

There is nearly 100 parking spaces on all sides of the gym, including some free parking.  

Do you have WiFi?

To keep membership costs down we do not offer complimentary wifi, but all machines that have screens are fully internet enabled and you can login to Facebook and even check your emails!

Can a trainer create a personal fitness programme for me?

Yes, for a one-off price of just £10.

Are there showers at 180 Degrees Fitness?

Yes, all of our gyms have powerful showers in separate cubicles.

Are there paper dispensers for wiping down equipment?

Yes although Paper towels are costly and cause unnecessary waste, so we ask that you carry a sweat towel at all times.

Security

Is there CCTV at 180 Degrees Fitness?

Yes. This is to monitor access to the gym, your safety and for emergancy.

Is the180 Degrees Fitness website secure?

Yes. Our application form and members area is secure, your details will be encrypted and personal details will be kept private.
